On Friday, June 20, 2008, the Mount Vernon School Board passed a resolution of intent to consider the termination of the teaching contract of the 2006-2007 Distinguished Service Award, John Freshwater.
This is the only official source of information from John Freshwater and his team of legal and spiritual advisors. No other person or group has the authority to speak for or on the behalf of Mr. Freshwater.
How You Can Help
1) PRAY. John and his family need your prayers of support and we ask you to join us in lifting them up. Pray for the Holy Spirit to direct the legal team, the steering committe and all those involved in the case, from the lawyers to the school board members, to the students and their families.
2) GIVE. As the board has now presented its case, its time for John's lawyers to step in and do their part. A group of community leaders fomed a non-profit group to collect monies to provide for John's defense. This group, The Community Council for Free Expression, is comprised of pastors, attorneys, an Ohio state representative and exists to support the Freshwater family and freedom of expression everywhere.
